The OSHC services include both before and after school care. The service is assessed by the National Quality Framework, a system which became effective in 2012. The aims of the service are to provide a safe, educationally and emotionally enriching environment where children can learn confidence outside the home. Children learn to relate well with their peers, trust and respond to a variety of educators whilst they are assisted to understand and respect their own and other children’s cultural diversity. The service achieves this whilst stimulating children’s curiosity and engaging in fun and recreational experiences with educators supporting spontaneous play. All of the OSHC programs reflect the diversity of the GOPS community and are designed to meet the social, emotional and academic needs of children attending program activities at OSHC are designed by educators to meet the individual needs for children of diverse ages and developmental levels.
