Principal and Staff

As the Principal of Glen Osmond Primary School Dr Kerry Kavanagh leads a dedicated and innovative staff that works collaboratively with the school parent community. The Leadership Team includes two Assistant Principals and a Coordinator. In addition to the formal leadership team the school operates on a distributive leadership model with all staff taking responsibility for providing leadership to others in a particular curriculum areas and/or other aspect of the school’s infrastructure. This distributive model ensures all students have access to a broad balance curriculum at Glen Osmond Primary School during their Reception to Year 7 school years. Dr Kavanagh has had extensive leadership experience in the area of R- 12 curriculum and professional development. She has published curriculum materials, is often invited to present at local and state educational events and has presented at a number national and international conferences particular in the area of literacy education. Kerry was awarded her PhD in 2004. The impact of Dr Kavanagh’s team approach to curriculum leadership is evident in the rigorous and relevant classroom learning programs that are on offer to students at Glen Osmond Primary School. Facilities upgrades, staff selection and financial management are all directed towards efforts to continuously improve students’ access to quality teaching and learning programs.
